The Central American Youth Ambassador (CAYA) Program is a youth exchange program run by the US Department of State that aims to improve the leadership skills of young individuals from Central America and the US. Participants from Central America, the Dominican Republic, and the United States form long-lasting friendships and understanding of the cultural components of their fellow participants in this multi-national event. By being a part of CAYA, students have the unique opportunity to travel to the United States, develop their leadership skills and expand their knowledge of U.S. culture and society. Following the exchange programs, CIED provides support to alumni and offer funding for small community projects.
